Patrick Duff - Owner and Training Director

Since 1995, Patrick Duff has been actively involved with caring for canines and comprehensive dog training. Under the experienced guidance of this training and behavioral specialist dogs become balanced and fulfilled. His genuine love of dogs propelled him from competitive hobbyist to professional. He is a longtime member of the IACP. The International Association of Canine Professionals was founded in 1999 and was established to develop and promote the highest standards and business practices among canine professionals.

Patrick joined a Schutzhund club and enjoyed several years competing in the intensive dog training sport. Competition included facing teams of dogs and handlers in the areas of tracking, obedience, and protection. It was an excellent opportunity for dogs and handlers to assess their training and progress. There are three Schutzhund titles: SchH1 is the first title and SchH3 is the most advanced. Patrick and his German shepherd dog, Mendy, earned Sch3 multiple times and won many high in trial awards as well.

He has experience and a love for working with puppies too. As a breeder of working German shepherd dogs, he personally raised several German Shepherd dogs that he helped to train for new owners. One of his German Shepherds became an official Police Dog. Patrick’s years with the Schutzhund club was a great start to his dog training career. It afforded the experience of working with police officers, other club members, and their dogs.

During his years in the corporate world, Patrick spent his free time working with dogs and developed a small business as “Your Canine Coach” in which he put his dog training skills to work. In addition to his Schutzhund training knowledge, Patrick is also experienced with: Gun Dog Training, AKC Hunt Tests, Basic and Advanced Obedience Training, Puppy Education, Dog Rehabilitation, Agility Course Training and general Dog Behavioral Modification. Still, his most rewarding accomplishment is his ability to help the average dog owner achieve a beneficial human and canine relationship.
